Living Room Fan is exactly what it says. A blog from a fan who watches most games from his living room. I am paying student loans, have a family and frankly can't afford to go to a lot of games. Throw in the fact that we live in the age of TV timeouts, corporate suits taking over arenas and ridiculous concession prices and I'm guessing many of you reading this are a "living room fan" as well.
Now, just because I am a living room fan doesn't mean I don't go to any games. In fact, I am hoping to go to my first Michigan football game of the year this weekend against Iowa. It simply means I prefer to watch most of my games from the comfort of my own home, or ideally a buddies home. Preferably one with a large LCD HD TV and a good selection of Samuel Adams in the fridge.
OK. That's enough about the living room fan, but what now about "Living Room Fan"? Well this blog will be about a wide variety of sports. I am a U of M graduate and love Michigan football more than any other team out there. I also root quite strongly for the Detroit Pistons and Red Wings and Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers. The Lions are gradually pulling me back in after a decade of futility.
In general though I love all of the major sports. I have opinions about every one of them too. I am not shy about sharing them, hence the blog.
I have tried blogging a few times in the past. However, recently I have tried to expand my efforts as a writer. A big part of that will be writing every day. What better way to do that than by blogging? No editors, no rejection letters, and I write about what I want.
